2027 Elections: Remi Tinubu, APC Governors to Storm Lafia for Tinubu-Shettima Mega Rally

ABUJA, NIGERIA — The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network has finalized plans to host what organizers are calling the “mother of all rallies” in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, this Saturday.

The event, hosted by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, aims to demonstrate the North Central region’s unified backing for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration followed a strategy meeting in Abuja chaired by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda. The session drew top-tier political figures from the zone, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, alongside regional governors, deputy governors, federal ministers, and National Assembly members.

Briefing journalists after the closed-door meeting, Prof. Yilwatda disclosed that political leaders across the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have unanimously agreed to fully activate their grassroots structures for the event.

“The meeting reflected a shared determination among participating stakeholders to coordinate their activities and strengthen grassroots engagement in support of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket,” Yilwatda stated.

Tributes to Victims of Recent Tragedies

Before addressing the political agenda, the APC National Chairman expressed profound condolences to the families affected by two recent national tragedies.

He extended sympathies over the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and the fatal mining disaster in Niger State, describing the losses as deeply painful for the affected communities and the nation.

Grassroots Mobilization and Leadership

The stakeholders credited SGF George Akume for his leadership in unifying the zone’s political factions and praised Governor Sule for stepping up to host the massive gathering.

Preparations are reportedly complete to receive thousands of party faithful, including women’s wings, youth groups, and grassroots organizations from across the region, all converging on Lafia to kickstart the formal campaign momentum for the 2027 presidency.
