FUEL DISCOUNT IS A SCAM! NDC Blasts FG’s 30-Day Cheap Petrol Scheme
The Federal Government’s brand-new 30-day fuel discount has triggered a political firestorm, with the opposition Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) branding the move “tokenism and deceit.”
The Tinubu administration claims the month-long price slash at NNPC retail stations is a targeted relief measure for struggling public transport operators, firmly denying that it means a return to the old subsidy regime. But the NDC isn’t buying it.
In a press release by party spokesperson Osa Director, the NDC claimed the government is secretly trying to sneak the fuel subsidy back in through the backdoor after causing months of economic pain.
The opposition is also warning of impending chaos on the streets. It argues that a handful of NNPC stations cannot possibly cope with millions of desperate Nigerian drivers, predicting massive queues, gridlock, and dangerous safety hazards at the pumps.
Linking the scheme to widespread economic suffering, the NDC accused the current government of driving businesses into bankruptcy, destroying jobs, and pushing the healthcare system to the brink of collapse.
With the 2027 elections fast approaching, the NDC is calling on all Nigerians to punish the ruling elite by voting heavily for Peter Obi and the NDC team.
