The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, has finally congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.
Oyebamiji’s statement, issued to APC members and supporters on Saturday, August 29, 2026, follows extensive consultations with party elders and critical stakeholders after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the poll results.
Moving Forward Through Lawful Means
Despite extending his congratulations, Oyebamiji emphasized that the APC remains deeply committed to the rule of law and will continue to evaluate its options using constitutional channels.
“As a party committed to the rule of law, we shall continue to pursue justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means, particularly in relation to our electoral processes,” Oyebamiji stated.
He urged party loyalists to remain resolute and maintain their confidence in democratic institutions.
A Call for Security and Unity
Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the creation of Osun State, Oyebamiji used the opportunity to urge Governor Adeleke to prioritize state security during this delicate transition period.
Looking ahead to future electoral cycles, the APC leader rallied party members to strengthen internal structures and focus on securing future victories for the presidency and state candidates.

I am deeply grateful to every one of you who stood by our aspiration throughout the journey. Your sacrifices, resilience, prayers, and unwavering belief in our Prosperity Agenda will remain indelible in my heart. I equally appreciate our party leaders, particularly His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed @officialABAT, GCFR; our father and leader, His Excellency, Baba Bisi Akande, CFR; and my leader, mentor, and boss, His Excellency, D. @GboyegaOyetola, CON, for their guidance, support, and commitment to the progress of our party and our dear state.
While we accept the outcome of the election and congratulate the winner, we cannot forget the painful incidents of violence and the lives that were lost. I mourn every victim of political violence and stand in solidarity with their families. I call on the relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate these incidents and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. No political contest should cost any Nigerian their life.
The 2026 governorship election has come and gone, but our commitment to Osun remains unwavering. Where there are legitimate concerns, we will continue to seek justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means. I urge our supporters not to be discouraged. We must remain calm, united, and resolute while keeping faith in democracy and the institutions established to protect it.
As we now turn our attention to the 2027 general election, I call on every APC member and supporter to close ranks, strengthen our structures, and rededicate ourselves to the task ahead. Our immediate responsibility is to mobilise for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the success of all our candidates in Osun State.
Our journey continues. The Prosperity Agenda remains alive, and our dream of a greater Osun remains unwavering. With faith, unity, and determination, we will continue to work for an Osun where opportunities are accessible to all, resources are equitably deployed, and governance truly serves the people.
I thank you all for standing with me. May God bless the APC, bless Osun State, and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
