Nigeria-Japan Relations: SGF Woos Japanese Investors with Economic Reforms

ABUJA – Nigeria is open for business! That’s the message from the country’s scribe, George Akume.

Akume, who holds the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, met with the Japanese ambassador to Nigeria in Abuja, Suzuki Hideo, where he reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Japan.

Akume highlighted President Tinubu’s economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that 57 Japanese companies are already operating in the country and promising a favorable investment climate.

The meeting is seeking further cooperation in areas of solid minerals, renewable energy, and technology sectors.
