The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially published the final lists of candidates for Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 general elections.

The comprehensive publication covers the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and State Houses of Assembly contests.

The presidential and National Assembly polls are scheduled to take place on January 16, 2027, followed by the governorship and State Assembly elections on February 6, 2027.

A total of 4,408 candidates have been cleared for the federal legislative elections. These include 1,195 senatorial candidates and 3,213 House of Representatives candidates.

Among the notable omissions are the recently elected PDP governorship candidate for Gombe State, Prof. Isa Pantami, and his Oyo State counterpart, Oladipupo Adebutu.

Delta North senatorial candidate Ned Nwoko is also missing on the list. Nwoko is currently in a legal tussle with former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over the APC ticket after alleging that he validly won the primary.

In Gombe State, former governor Senator Danjuma Goje may not be returning to the senate for a fifth term after losing out on the APC ticket for Gombe Central during the party primaries held on May 18, 2026, to Mohammed Ahmed.

Goje’s name is among those missing despite his challenge of the outcome of the primary.
