FUBARA: I’ve Left What Happened In The Past Behind

Rivers State governor Siminalaye Fubara says he no longer thinks about what happened to him politically; rather, his interest is in forging ahead.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Omademe internal roads in the Ikwere local government area, Fubara reflected on the turbulence of the past three years and told supporters that he has moved beyond that.

“Join hands with me to foster peace. Think of where we are coming from; I’m not interested in going down that road again. It is behind me,” he told the people.

He insisted that what’s important for him is his future and peace of the state, noting, “I’m looking at what’s ahead of me.”

Fubara had been in a running battle with his political benefactor and current FCT Minister Nyesom Wike since the two fell out, with members of the State Assembly pitching their support for the FCT Minister.

The face-off led to impeachment threats, a state of emergency, and another impeachment threat.

Ultimately, Fubara had to sacrifice his ambition for a second term and declare his allegiance to the ‘rainbow coalition.’
