$2.1m Land Lawsuit: Court Orders Nyesom Wike’s Son, Jordan, to Produce US Passport

Jordan Wike, the son of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, has been embroiled in a $2.1 million lawsuit filed against him by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.

The case, pending before an Abuja High Court, alleges that Jordan promised to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in the Katampe district and another 30 hectares in the Guzape district of the FCT.

According to the claimants, they paid a “facilitation fee” of $2.1 million. They allege that $2 million of the sum was intended for Jordan’s father, Minister Nyesom Wike, while $100,000 served as Jordan’s personal fee.

The plaintiffs further claim the cash was delivered to Jordan on September 26, 2025, in Abuja. Following the transaction, Jordan allegedly ceased communication, failed to secure the land allocations, and refused to refund the money.

Jordan has strongly denied the allegations. In a written statement on oath submitted to the court, Jordan—represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Ogwu Onoja—maintained that he had no knowledge of the transaction described by the claimants.

Questioned about his whereabouts on the date of the alleged cash delivery, Jordan stated that he was not in Nigeria at the time. He clarified that he had traveled out of the country using his American passport, adding that he could provide the document if necessary.

Consequently, the claimants’ counsel requested a formal order for the passport’s production, which Justice Oriji granted without opposition from the defense.

The judge subsequently ordered Jordan to present his American international passport in court and adjourned proceedings until Wednesday for the continuation of the hearing.
