Nigeria Wins Multi-Billion Dollar AfCFTA Customs Modernisation Contract
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated the selection of a Nigerian company for a multi-billion-dollar continental customs modernisation project.Nigerian Firm Secures Mega-Continental DealThe African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) selected AfriTrade CMP Limited for a 20-year project.
AfriTrade is a subsidiary of Bergmans Security Consultant and Supplies Limited.
The project deploys digital and physical infrastructure across participating African countries.
It covers cargo tracking, border management, and trade-data exchange.Homegrown Technology Exports to Africa
Another Bergmans subsidiary already manages Nigeria’s local trade modernisation. The local initiative uses “B’Odogwu,” an indigenous unified customs management system.
The system launched its pilot phase in October 2024. It integrates with Nigeria’s National Single Window launched in March 2026.
