2027: Senator Aduda Prepares for Senate Return
The political landscape of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is heating up as Senator Philip Aduda prepares to return to the Senate.
The former PDP lawmaker who is now a member of the APC led other leaders of the party to welcome hordes of Young Progressive Party (YPP) members into the ruling party.
The mass defection took place in the Abaji Area Council during a high-profile political reception hosted for Senator Philip Aduda, the APC senatorial candidate for the FCT in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Royal Blessing at the Ona of Abaji’s Palace
The strategic political outing featured a visit to the FCT Council of Traditional Rulers and a high-stakes meeting at the APC Party Secretariat in Abaji.
There the politician held direct interface with local party leadership and aligned on grassroots mobilization strategies.
YPP Structure Collapses Into APC
The highlight of the day was the formal collapse of the YPP structure in the Abaji Area Council into the ruling party. The defectors openly renounced their membership in the YPP, citing a desire to align with a party capable of delivering sustainable development to the FCT.
The decampees were officially received into the APC fold by the APC FCT State Chairman, Hon. Abdulmalik Tanko Yamawo, alongside Senator Aduda and other notable party heavyweights.
Aduda Calls for Grassroots Consolidation
Senator Aduda emphasized that a unified front is essential for the party’s clean sweep in the 2027 polls. He urged party loyalists to focus heavily on strengthening and deepening unity across all wards. “We must consolidate the APC structure at the grassroots level,” Aduda stated. “The success of our party and all its candidates in the forthcoming elections depends on our collective dedication and closeness to the people.”
