The opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) has challenged President Bola Tinubu to extend the same security resolve that freed abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State to rescuing hundreds of other Nigerians still held captive across Kwara, Borno, and other regions.

The party’s demand follows comments made by the President during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with traditional rulers from Oyo State, led by the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a statement issued by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party argued that the successful Oyo rescue operation must become the blueprint for handling all kidnappings, rather than being treated as an isolated success story.

The party emphasized that every Nigerian deserves the same swift government response, regardless of their location or ethnicity.

Abdullahi questioned why the Federal Government has not deployed the same intelligence networks, operational capacity, and political will to free other captives, weeks after the Oyo school victims were brought home safely without paying a ransom.

Urging President Tinubu to maintain a strict “no-deal” stance with bandits, the ADC stated that showing equal resolve across all states is vital to giving desperate families hope that their loved ones have not been abandoned by the government.
