Fake Presidential Office: FG Files Fresh Charge Against PFIPC Director-General Adeniyi Adeyemi
The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the eight-count criminal charge against Adeniyi Adeyemi, the 38-year-old alleged fake Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Justice Mohammed Garba Umar terminated the case on Monday, October 12, 2026, following a strategic application by the Federal Government to transfer the prosecution to the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
During the court proceedings, the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, moved the application to terminate the initial case. He revealed that a review by the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice identified critical gaps in the initial charge filed by the Inspector-General of Police.
Because the alleged offences predominantly involving forged documents and fraud fall under the territorial jurisdiction of the FCT High Court, the Federal Government has already filed fresh charges there to ensure a seamless re-arraignment.
Adeyemi’s defense counsel, Ibrahim Angulu, SAN, raised no objections to the withdrawal, prompting Justice Umar to officially strike out the matter.
Adeyemi was originally being prosecuted under case file FHC/ABJ/CR/25/2025 on allegations of conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation after falsely presenting himself as the head of the PFIPC, a body the Presidency has explicitly disowned as fraudulent. He was charged alongside two accomplices, identified simply as Femi and Anu, whose surnames remain unknown and who both still remain at large.
The Federal Government has assured that Adeyemi’s fresh arraignment before the FCT High Court will proceed without delay.
