Court Remands ‘Fake’ PFIPC DG Adeniyi Adeyemi in Kuje Prison Over Alleged Forgery

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the fictitious Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Adeyemi was arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Mohammed Umar on an eight-count criminal charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to all counts, after which the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, argued that the defendant had put himself up for trial and urged the court to remand him in prison custody pending the determination of the case.

Although the defense counsel, Genesis Francis, informed the court that a bail application had been filed and served, Justice Umar adjourned the matter to October 12 and 13, 2026, for trial and to hear the bail application.

The case, which was initiated after a police investigation, dates back to November 2025, when an eight-count charge was filed against Adeyemi. The Attorney General of the Federation subsequently took over the prosecution.

Adeyemi is accused of conspiring with two others, who remain at large, to forge presidential appointment letters, State House documents, and official correspondence linked to the non-existent PFIPC.
