Operation Fansan Yamma: Troops Rescue Six Kidnapped Victims in Kaduna and Katsina
Troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully rescued six kidnapped victims during separate counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna and Katsina states.
The operations, carried out by distinct sectors of the task force, led to the immediate recovery of the victims and a vehicle belonging to them.
According to an official statement issued on Friday by the Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the military breakthroughs were achieved following swift tactical responses to intelligence reports and distress calls.
Sector 1 Intercepts Terrorists in Kaduna
In Kaduna State, troops attached to Sector One responded to a kidnapping incident in the Igabi Local Government Area. During a fighting patrol, the personnel made contact with suspected terrorists who were actively relocating a group of abducted civilians. The statement said the terrorists abandoned their captives and fled in disarray into nearby forests on sighting the troops, who took three victims, identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda, and Kalif Haruna, to safety.
Preliminary debriefings revealed that the trio had been forcefully abducted on September 11, 2026, from Gidan Gulbi Village.
Heavy Firepower Frees Captives in Katsina
Concurrently, in Katsina State, troops of Sector Two responded to an urgent distress call regarding the abduction of civilians along the Dandume-Damari axis in the Dandume Local Government Area.
Those rescued are Abubakar Abdulkadir (25), Mansir Idris (26), and Abubakar Aliyu (21).
A Volkswagen Golf vehicle belonging to the Katsina victims was also recovered at the scene. Security forces later escorted the rescued travelers to ensure they could safely continue their journeys.

The Theatre Command of Operation Fansan Yamma emphasized that the continuous operational successes reflect the military’s ongoing resolve to protect innocent civilians, dismantle terrorist networks, and completely deny criminal elements any freedom of action across the North-West region.
Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly to the nearest security agencies to sustain the momentum against banditry.
