Nigeria’s Defence Architecture Gets Major Boost
JALINGO—Major General Chinedu Nnebeife has assumed office as the pioneer General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the newly established 10 Division of the Nigerian Army.
The 10th Division is among four new army divisions established recently by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to enhance the country’s defence response mechanisms.
The division, which is set to begin within one week, covers Taraba and Adamawa States in the country’s northeast.
The host state—Taraba—has expressed readiness to give full support for its operations.
The Secretary to the State Government, Gebon Kataps, said this while receiving the new GOC.
Strategic Impact on Regional Security
Governor Agbu Kefas, himself a retired army personnel sees it as crucial to drastically reducing regional security challenges, praising President Bola Tinubu for the initiative.
