Nigerian Naira Value Today: Official Rates, Parallel Market

Share WhatsApp X

On September 2, 2026, the Nigerian Naira stabilized between ₦1,332 and ₦1,373 against the US Dollar (USD) in the official market, while parallel market rates compressed to a tight range of ₦1,400 to ₦1,410.

This narrowing spread highlights a structural shift in Nigeria’s foreign exchange landscape, aligning with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recent monetary stabilization objectives.

Minor Variance Across Banking Channels

While the official window reflects a unified trajectory, marginal discrepancies persist across commercial banking institutions.

Market data reveals that Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) offered a retail rate of ₦1,338 per dollar, whereas the United Bank for Africa (UBA) pegged its rate slightly higher at ₦1,345.50.

Financial analysts view these minimal variations as normal operational spreads rather than signs of market distortion.
