Military Commander Relocates to Plateau as “Operation Hard Nut” Launches After 26 Killed in Mangu

MANGU, NIGERIA — The Special Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, has launched a major military offensive codenamed Operation Hard Nut to halt a deadly resurgence of violence in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In a decisive move to crush the security threat, the Theatre Commander, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has permanently relocated his operational headquarters to Mangu to provide direct, on-the-ground leadership.

The aggressive military response follows a brutal Monday night attack on Bin-per village in Mangu’s Kombun District, which left 26 residents dead and several communities displaced.

Direct Command and Troop Mobilisation

Following a comprehensive strategic briefing from the Mangu Sector Commander, Major General Dangana addressed the freshly deployed troops. He ordered the forces to remain highly professional, resolute, and ruthless against criminal elements disrupting the peace.

“Operation Hard Nut is designed to clear out bandits, protect vulnerable farming communities, and permanently restore normalcy,” Dangana stated.

By operating directly from the trenches of Mangu, the Commander will personally supervise tactical troop deployments across vulnerable border villages, ensure real-time intelligence sharing between air and ground assets, and coordinate joint patrols with local vigilante networks.

Police Arrest Mastermind Behind Bin-per Massacre

In a parallel security breakthrough, the Plateau State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the prime suspect believed to be the mastermind behind the Bin-per village massacre.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the arrest. Alabo disclosed that the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation to help detectives track down fleeing accomplices and expose their wider network.
