Jowizaza’s Dad Released By Kidnappers
AWKA, NIGERIA — JEZCO Group CEO Joseph Ezeokafor and a Catholic Reverend Sister have been released after being held for 10 days by kidnappers.
The billionaire businessman and CEO of Jezco Group of Companies was released early Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, alongside an undisclosed Catholic Reverend Sister who was also held by the gunmen.
The Abduction
Armed gunmen intercepted and abducted the prominent Anambra-born industrialist on August 4, 2026, at Ifite-Awka. The incident occurred while Ezeokafor was en route to a religious prayer mission.
Police Confirm Release
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the safe return of both victims in an official press statement issued on Saturday.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, police detectives are already interacting with the victims. The command aims to formalise the circumstances of their release and gather actionable intelligence to track down the perpetrators. Manhunt Intensified.
The newly appointed Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nanna Oji Ama, commended the safe return of the victims. He has ordered an intensified, intelligence-led manhunt to arrest the fleeing kidnappers.
