Dolly Parton: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Oprah, and Elton John Pay Tributes

Tributes have continued to pour in for the queen of country music, Dolly Parton, who passed away on Tuesday.

Celebrities from around the world have described her as an irreplaceable icon, whose legacy transcended music.

Parton was remembered for her humour, kindness, inspiration, and humanity.

Oprah Winfrey, in a post on her Instagram account, wrote that Dolly “She brought the light, and we are all better because she was here. God bless you, Dolly—you earned your wings.”

Also writing on his Instagram, Sir Elton John described her passing as “devastating.”

American pop music superstar Taylor Swift, who’s also from the same state of Tennessee as Dolly, issued a full statement.

“A world without Dolly doesn’t feel possible, real, or right. But because of the eternally generous way she spent her time on this earth and the countless lives she changed for the better, her legacy will be an everlasting one,” she wrote.

And pop music icon Beyoncé, who recently transitioned to country music with the release of her 2024 country album, Cowboy Carter, which featured portions of Dolly Parton’s Jolene song, wrote, “You taught so many lessons on how to be uniquely yourself.” I am grateful for your art, your heart, your generosity, your humor, your entrepreneurship.”

Dolly Parton died at 80 after a battle with cancer.
