Coco Gauff has booked her spot in the U.S. Open semifinals after pulling off a spectacular three-set comeback victory against Mirra Andreeva on Wednesday.
The 2023 champion endured a rocky start, dropping the opening set 2-6 in just 26 minutes while committing 14 unforced errors.
The second set proved to be the turning point. Gauff rallied in an intense tiebreak, saving two match points before digging deep to take the set 7-6.
With momentum fully on her side, Gauff dominated the final set 6-2 to close out the match.
The victory sets up a mouthwatering semifinal clash on Thursday, September 10, where Gauff will face the newly crowned world No. 1, Elena Rybakina.
