NEW DELHI, INDIA — Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in New Delhi to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.

Operating under the 2026 theme, “Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability,” the summit serves as a critical launchpad for Nigeria to expand its trade frontiers, attract foreign direct investments, and solidify alliances with major emerging global economies.

“India is firm in its expertise in agriculture and, of course, even in the digital economy,” Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu stated. “Prior to this, we had a session dealing with women in the digital economy and artificial intelligence. We are leveraging on India’s greatest strength, which is in the engagement of its youth population.”
