Tinubu Reappoints Dembos as NTA DG, Ali as NAN Managing Director
ABUJA, NIGERIA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed the appointments of the Director-General of the National Television Authority (NTA) and the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for a second term of three years.
The development was announced on Sunday, August 23, 2026, in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos has been reappointed as DG of NTA. The Adamawa veteran broadcaster joined the NTA in 1989 as an announcer at the Kaduna Station post-NYSC and progressed to the position of executive director of marketing.
Ali Mohammed Ali’s tenure was also renewed for another three years. The veteran journalist and media manager boasts over 30 years of industry experience, with a specialized focus on digital media evolution.
Both media executives were initially appointed by President Tinubu on October 20, 2023.
