A 29-year-old kidnap victim, Ibeabuchi Adibenma, who was violently abducted at the Afor-Ogidi Market within the Isiala Amaifeke Community, has been rescued.
Adibenma was returning from the International Market in Umumma, Orlu, when armed men on motorbikes accosted him and whisked him away.
They later demanded N15 million for his release.
Security operatives tracked the kidnappers to their hideout and, during a high-stakes rescue operation, neutralised two suspected members of the kidnapping ring.
Two high-calibre weapons and several rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the scene.
