La Liga Results: Real Madrid & Real Sociedad Cruise to Big Wins in Matchday 9

La Liga’s Matchday 9 witnessed thrilling performances across Spain, with high-scoring spectacles at both the Anoeta and Santiago Bernabéu keeping the race for the top five wide open.

Sunday’s matchday opened with Osasuna hosting Racing Santander. The hosts put on a disciplined display, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory to pick up three vital points.

Shortly after, Europa League contenders Celta Vigo bounced back from a disappointing midweek European loss against Juventus. Celta shrugged off their fatigue to overcome Deportivo Alavés in a confident performance, with Ferran Jutglà and Rodríguez both finding the back of the net.

Real Sociedad Thumps Malaga in 7-Goal Thriller

The most explosive action of the day came from San Sebastián, where Real Sociedad dismantled Malaga in a 5-2 goal-fest. Takefusa Kubo sparked the fireworks early with a 4th-minute opener, and Mikel Oyarzabal spearheaded the attack with a brilliant brace.
Orri Óskarsson and Gonçalo Guedes added a goal apiece to complete the five-goal demolition.

Real Madrid Dominate Sevilla Ahead of Champions League Clash

The night concluded with a high-stakes capital showdown between Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Despite manager José Mourinho missing star winger Vinícius Júnior—who is currently serving a four-game suspension—Los Blancos stepped up convincingly. Arda Güler broke the deadlock in the 30th minute before Kylian Mbappé took control, netting a superb brace that included a confidently dispatched penalty.

Sevilla managed to pull one back in the 80th minute through Bueno, but Real Madrid responded just two minutes later. A late strike from Ousmane Diomande sealed a dominant 4-1 victory, providing the perfect morale boost ahead of their crucial Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
