Jonathan Commissions 18 Township Roads Worth ₦13.7bn in Bauchi

BAUCHI, NIGERIA — Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has officially commissioned 18 completed township road projects spanning 49.7 kilometres within the Bauchi metropolis.

The infrastructure projects, executed by Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, cost an estimated ₦13.7 billion. They aim to transform transportation and boost economic activities in the state capital.

Transforming Bauchi’s Urban Infrastructure

During the commissioning ceremony, former President Jonathan praised the Bauchi State Government for delivering impactful governance. He noted that a robust road network is a critical driver of sustainable economic growth.”These projects demonstrate visionary leadership and a purposeful investment in infrastructure,” Jonathan stated.

He emphasized that the upgraded roads will significantly improve the quality of life for residents.

Commitment to Prudent Resource Management

Governor Bala Mohammed reiterated his administration’s resolve to the strategic development of the state. He explained that the 49.7-kilometre road network was designed to improve urban connectivity, enhance public transportation, and ease access to essential services.

He urged residents to safeguard the newly completed infrastructure. He warned against activities that could damage the roads and reduce their lifespan.
