Speaking at a technical briefing in Abuja, the NGSA addressed public anxiety surrounding the tremor that shook parts of the capital city on August 5.
While earthquakes can cause catastrophic human, material, and economic losses, expert analysis reveals that this specific event was highly localized. Technical experts explained that the tremor was exceptionally shallow, meaning it lacked the structural force required to cause widespread destruction.
