The days of waiting years for a federal job portal to open are officially over.

Following the release of its final 2024/2025 list featuring 3,852 successful recruits, the Nigeria Customs Service has announced a historic shift to a predictable, annual hiring cycle.

This new system means fresh job vacancies will open up every 12 months, offering continuous, fair opportunities across all 36 states and the FCT for applicants looking to secure a career in the Superintendent, Inspectorate, or Customs Assistant cadres.

Why NCS is Adopting an Annual Recruitment Cycle

The newly introduced annual cycle aims to modernise the agency’s human resource management. “The annual recruitment cycle system will allow the Service to recruit based on expected retirements,” Adeniyi explained.

He added that this predictable schedule offers a major benefit to job seekers. Unsuccessful applicants will no longer have to wait several years for another chance, as a new application window will open within 12 months.

Breakdown of the 2024/2025 Recruits and Quotas

The concluded 2024/2025 exercise—which began in December 2024—distributed quotas evenly across geopolitical boundaries. Each state of the federation received 105 slots across three distinct cadres, while the FCT was allocated 72 slots.
