UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE: Lamine Yamal Shines Again for Spain, England Secure First Win

Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal continued his impressive form in Spain’s UEFA Nations League campaign, bagging a brace for La Roja in their dominant win against Croatia.

Much like the previous game against England on Saturday, Yamal opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the second minute. Croatia struck back with an equalizer in the 28th minute, but Yamal quickly responded by assisting Marc Pubill in the 31st minute to restore Spain’s lead.

Yamal capped off his stellar performance with his second goal of the match and Spain’s third in the 63rd minute, beautifully finishing off an assist from his Barcelona teammate, Pedri.

The teenager was subbed off five minutes later, with Víctor Muñoz coming on as his replacement. The game ended 4-1 in favor of Spain after Nico Williams secured the fourth and final goal for La Roja in the 89th minute.

In the night’s other major fixture, England bounced back from their loss against Spain to beat the Czech Republic 2-0. Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon put the Three Lions ahead with an early second-half goal before Harry Kane wrapped up the victory by converting a 69th-minute strike.

Elsewhere across Europe, Slovenia beat North Macedonia 2-0, Switzerland secured a comfortable 3-0 away win at Scotland, and Finland played out a 0-0 stalemate with Belarus. Meanwhile, Albania picked up a significant 3-0 victory on the road against San Marino.

Rounding up the rest of the action, the Faroe Islands and Moldova settled for a 1-1 draw, Slovakia edged out Kazakhstan 2-1, Bulgaria and Estonia finished 1-1, and Luxembourg slumped to a 0-3 defeat against Iceland.
