Cristiano Ronaldo Suspended by Portugal, Fined After Training Camp Walkout
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has handed Cristiano Ronaldo a 30-day suspension and a €255 fine after the captain abruptly walked out of the national team’s training camp in Denmark.
The disciplinary action follows an incident where the 41-year-old forward left the squad prior to their Nations League fixture against Denmark.
Tensions reportedly flared regarding his playing time under the management of Jorge Jesus.
Following his departure, Ronaldo issued a public apology to his teammates and supporters, acknowledging that his actions carried consequences.
The forward admitted that he deserved to be punished, emphasizing that as team captain, he is held to a higher standard and must lead by example.
