2027: Supporting Tinubu Not About Money But National Progress – PDP’s Wole Oluyede
The 2026 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has formed a major political alliance with multiple opposition parties to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The coalition, unveiled under the aegis of the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA), brings together key opposition forces in Ekiti State.
Participating entities include the PDP, Accord Party, Action Democratic Party (ADP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Action Alliance (AA), and several other political pressure groups.
Moving Past Ekiti 2026 Election Grievances
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of OPARHA in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, Oluyede urged his supporters and political associates to look past the outcome of the recently concluded 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.
He emphasized the need to unite behind the current administration for national interest.
Oluyede revealed that his decision to spearhead the alliance followed direct communication from the Presidency.
According to the PDP chieftain, President Tinubu personally appealed to him to bury the political bitterness of the Ekiti gubernatorial race and collaborate with the federal government.
Alliance Formed for National Progress, Not Money
Addressing concerns over the unexpected cross-party alliance, Oluyede stated that the coalition is strictly built on patriotic intentions rather than financial inducements. He stressed that members are fully committed to driving what they consider the progress, stability, and long-term development of Nigeria.
The development signals a major realignment in Ekiti State’s political landscape as political actors begin structuring networks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
