U.S. Threatens Global Shutdown of All Iranian Airlines

The United States has warned that it will effectively ground all Iranian commercial airlines worldwide.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the sweeping measure during an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Monday, September 21, 2026.

“On September 23, all the Iranian airlines will be shut down around the world,” Bessent stated.
