SHEIN Hong Kong IPO: Fast-Fashion Giant Prepares for $40B Debut

Fast-growing online fashion retailer SHEIN is moving forward with its highly anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO), targeting a valuation between $30 billion and $40 billion for its upcoming debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

According to exclusive reporting from Reuters, the e-commerce giant plans to launch the public offering as early as mid-August.

Preliminary investor meetings reportedly commenced last week as the company tests market demand.

This updated valuation target represents a significant market adjustment for SHEIN. The company’s private valuation peaked at a staggering $98.2 billion in 2022.

However, following slowed growth and mounting external regulatory pressures, its valuation fell to $64 billion during private fundraising rounds across 2023 and April 2024.

The strategic shift to Hong Kong follows prolonged regulatory hurdles and intense scrutiny in Western markets, making this listing one of the most closely watched financial events of the year.
