President Bola Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Presidential Villa
Fresh off from his electoral victory, the Osun State governor arrived at the Villa late Thursday afternoon, alongside a high-powered team of political allies and top aides.
The president was the first high profile member of the ruling party to congratulate Adeleke on his election victory.
The Context Behind the Visit
The courtesy call comes less than a week after the August 15 Osun State governorship election, where Adeleke secured his re-election.
Running on the Accord Party ticket, Adeleke won the race with 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
On Wednesday, he was handed a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
