Osun Election: Oyebamiji Warns Adeleke to Call Supporters to Order

ABUJA—Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the just concluded Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has asked Governor Ademola Adeleke to call his supporters to order.

Oyebamiji issued the warning after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House Presidential Villa on Friday.

The APC candidate also appealed to residents of Osun State to remain calm while the party reviews the official results.

Tinubu Urges Peace and People-Centred Governance

Speaking to journalists after his audience with the President, Oyebamiji disclosed that President Tinubu strongly emphasised the need to maintain peace in the state.

According to the APC candidate, the President noted that democratic contests must be approached with a peaceful mindset, reinforcing that governance is ultimately about serving the people.

“The take-home message from the President is that there must be calm. It should be calm,” Oyebamiji stated.

Call to Governor Adeleke Over Supporters’ Violence

The APC candidate also alleged that targeted attacks against opposition members had already begun following the declaration of the election results.

He claimed that about five APC members were attacked in Ikire on Friday morning.

According to him, security agencies have been formally notified to investigate the incident and restore order.

APC Reviewing Election Results

On whether the APC will contest the outcome of the election in court, Oyebamiji clarified that the party has not yet taken a final stance. According to him, a decision will be taken after a comprehensive assessment of the results.
