Nigeria Orders Probe Into Fake Presidential Agency, Approves $1.25B World Bank Loan
ABUJA, Nigeria—The Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered a comprehensive forensic audit into the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” and several other newly uncovered fake agencies operating within the government structure.
Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, announced the decisive action on Wednesday following a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The probe aims to expose structural vulnerabilities, identify complicit actors, and prevent future bureaucratic infiltrations.
According to Minister Oyedele, the discovery of the fraudulent “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” triggered a wider investigation that exposed additional shadow entities operating within the federal system.
The forensic audit will aggressively examine government processes to determine how the illegal groups successfully embedded themselves. President Tinubu directed that the audit should stretch into fixing systemic weaknesses that will ultimately make Nigeria’s institutions more secure.
