Massive Breakthrough: Joint Forces Storm Adamawa Mountain, Kill 21 Terrorists
More than 21 Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists have been killed following a string of joint operations by the military and intelligence teams in Adamawa State.
The Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), alongside the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Tactical Team, dislodged a major terrorist camp in the Kopre Mountain area of the Hong Local Government Area.
The precision raid is said to have taken place in the early hours of Thursday, August 27, 2026. It targeted a strategic stronghold to locate and rescue victims abducted from the Mussa community in May and school children seized from Lassa in June.
Key Details of the Operation
The assault was executed by the ONSA Tactical Team and newly inducted troops of the 226 Battalion, deployed to Sector 4 in Adamawa State.

Over 21 terrorists were confirmed dead, while several others are said to have escaped deeper into the bushes.
Recovered Items
Following the clearance of the camp, troops dominated the general area and seized or destroyed critical terroristinfrastructure.e
Among weapons recovered were multiple AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, and rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
Logistic equipment of the terrorists, including motorcycles, bicycles, and jerrycans filled with Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), was destroyed.
In a statement issued by Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for JTF North East, the military reaffirmed that clearance operations in the difficult terrain will persist until all abducted individuals are safely rescued
