Five days after the brutal abduction of worshippers in Borgu, Niger State, President Bola Tinubu has ordered troops to immediately commence coordinated operations to rescue the victims.

In an official statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu strongly condemned the attackers, labeling them “enemies of peace and enemies of humanity” who will not go unpunished.

He reassured the victims’ families of national solidarity, stating that his administration will remain resolute in protecting Nigerian lives and securing vulnerable communities.

The presidential directive involves the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and all relevant security and intelligence agencies.

The President also reached out to the victim’s families, assuring them that they are not alone.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the families of those who were killed in this barbaric assault and pray that Almighty God grant them eternal rest and grant their loved ones the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

“You are not alone. The entire nation shares your anguish. We will not rest until your sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers are brought back safely to you,” he said.

The Service Chiefs have been mandated to provide regular briefings on the progress of the rescue operation until all those abducted are accounted for.
