Relief for Kaduna Retirees as Gov. Sani Approves N3.6 Pension Settlement
Pensioners in Kaduna State can now heave a sigh of relief following the approval of ₦3.659 billion to settle outstanding pensions, gratuities, and death benefits for retirees and their families.
The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the intervention is part of ongoing public financial management reforms to enhance transparency and clear long-standing pension liabilities.
Key Highlights of the Disbursement
Total Beneficiaries: 1,339 retirees and eligible families across state and local government services.
Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS): ₦515 million allocated to 210 local government retirees.
Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS): ₦3.144 billion distributed among 1,129 beneficiaries (comprising 402 state-level retirees and 727 local government council retirees).
This latest release brings the total pension-related payments under the Uba Sani administration to ₦21.455 billion, benefiting 9,683 individuals since taking office in May 2023.
