NDLEA Smashes Drug Networks in Abeokuta Sweeps
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has launched a massive crackdown on major drug syndicates in Ogun State, raiding several notorious black spots across Abeokuta.
The targeted sweeps are part of “Operation Restore Order,” a nationwide initiative directed by NDLEA Chairman, retired Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa, to disrupt drug trafficking networks and reclaim public spaces.
Key Locations Raided in Abeokuta
The simultaneous raids were carried out at multiple high-risk zones known for illicit drug activities, such as the Mayas and Miami in Panseke, Eleweran Onion Market, and MKO Abiola Stadium Park, as well as the WAPCO axis.
Dismantling Criminal Networks
The Ogun State Command emphasized that the operations aim to completely dismantle local drug supply chains. By clearing these areas, the agency intends to prevent public parks, markets, and transit hubs from being hijacked by traffickers and substance abusers.
