Igbos Must Convince Other Nigerians That An Igbo President Will Benefit All — NDC National Leader
The Chief Technical Adviser to the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. VinMartin Ilo, says the task of electing the party’s presidential candidate is one that all in the southeast must commit to.
Speaking in Abuja on Saturday while receiving the South-East chapter of the NDC in the Federal Capital Territory, Ilo said the party’s campaign message should be for all Nigerians, irrespective of where they live and where they come from.
Ilo, however, said the people of the southeast must take the lead in carrying the message across and reassure that electing Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso is not just for a certain region but will benefit the entire country.
“They have to lead from the front and reassure other Nigerians that the Igbo man as president will bring the change that Nigeria needs,” Ilo said.
Meanwhile, the southeast chapter of the party in the FCT says it is massively mobilising to deliver at least one million votes for the party in the 2027 presidential election.
Chairman of the chapter Mike Nwosu, thanked the NDC for giving the ticket to Peter Obi, saying it reassures that the Southeast region matters in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Nwosu said mobilisation is ongoing to deliver a massive victory for the party in the FCT.
“We are going to bring together, not less than, one million people in Abuja. We want to bring all the Igbos in Abuja and the FCT together under one umbrella, the NDC,” he said.
