EFCC Chief, Housing Minister Meet Tinubu Over Disposal of Seized Assets
ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday held a strategic meeting at the State House with the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Rabe Darma.
The high-level engagement centered on the management and final disposal of real estate assets seized by the anti-graft agency across Nigeria focuses on transparency and accountability.
The discussions aimed to establish clear, accountable, and transparent frameworks for handling recovered properties.
The move aligns with the federal government’s ongoing campaign to tighten the management of assets seized from financial crimes and illicit activities.
Streamlining Recovered Assets
The properties under review include numerous residential and commercial buildings scattered across the country, all forfeited during anti-corruption investigations.
President Tinubu’s administration has consistently stressed that recovered proceeds of crime must be managed efficiently to ensure maximum benefit for the public and prevent asset degradation.
