INEC Publishes 2027 Presidential Credentials For Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi
ABUJA — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially released the academic certificates and personal credentials of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The electoral umpire also published the official profiles and submitted documents of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi, his running mate Rabi’u Kwankwaso, and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Statutory Public Scrutiny Begins
The public disclosure complies strictly with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act. The law mandates INEC to make all candidates’ personal particulars public within 21 days of receipt.
This statutory window allows voters, political parties, and civil society stakeholders to thoroughly scrutinise the documents submitted by the aspirants.
Documents now open for public verification include:
- Certified true copies of academic qualifications
- National identity profiles
- Statutory declarations and supporting affidavits

Countdown To 2027 Campaigns
This major development clears the path for the next phase of the political calendar. The official commencement of campaigns for the 2027 presidential election is scheduled to begin on August 19.
The publication of these credentials frequently triggers intense political and legal debates in Nigeria’s election cycles.
Analysts expect legal teams and opposition research groups to immediately begin reviewing the uploaded files.
